League Construction: |
This league will have 2 divisions of 14 teams. These divisions can trade with each other. They are not independent of each other despite the fact they do not play regular season games against each other. |
Player Copies: |
There will be 2 copies of every player. These players can be traded between any team regardless of division. Starting in 2016, MFL no longer allows you to have two copies of the same player on the same team. |
Rivalry Games: |
Each year rivals will be chosen. These rivaly games are chosen at random in year 1 and each following year are chosen by the loser of the previous year's rivalry games. When choosing a rival, the challenger gets to select which of the challengee's trophies they will be playing for. If the challenger holds a trophy, the challengee can select a trophy to play for. Teams never lose trophies. The winner merely gets to add to their trophy case. The winner of a rivalry game will receive a Rivalry Trophy. This is a digital trophy. There will be 7 different Rivalry Trophies (2 copies of each trophy)
Rivalry winners get $10 in bankroll bucks and a trophy if their opponent was a trophy holder. |
Rivalry Pink Slips: |
|
Rivalry 3-Peater Progressive Pot: $50 per year |
Win 3 rivalry games in a row (whether a trophy is up for grabs or not) and win the Rivalry Progressive Pot. This pot will increase by $50 each year until someone wins the pot. This pot is paid out at the END of the season. If more than one team wins their 3rd consecutive rivalry trophy in the same season, they will split the pot. The trophy count will not reset upon payout.
|
Rivalry Progressive Pot: $100 per year |
Win 5 rivalry games (whether a trophy is up for grabs or not) and win the Rivalry Progressive Pot. This pot will increase by $100 each year until someone wins the pot. This pot is paid out at the END of the season. If more than one team wins their 5th rivalry trophy in the same season, they will split the pot. The trophy count will be reset upon payout.
|
Complete-the-Pig Rivalry Champion Progressive Pot: $100 per year |
You will maintain your digital trophy case even after trophy count resets. The first person to win all 7 different trophies will win the Rivalry Championship. This pot increases by $100 per year. This pot is paid out at the END of the season. If more than one team collects their 7th different rivalry trophy in the same season, they will split the pot. Everyone's trophy cases will reset once this is won. (Obviously I'll still have record of it, but for puposes of going after this prize again, everyone resets).
|
Double Champion Progressive Pot: $100 per year |
Each year $100 wil be put into a progressive pot for a team that wins the league twice in a three year period. This pot goes to any team winning twice in a 3 year period and does not reset. This means if Team Z wins in 2016 and 2017, he will win the $200 pot. If he wins again in 2018, he will win the $100 pot because he will have met the requirement of 2 times in 3 years. Also, If team A wins in 2016, 2017, 2019 and team B wins in 2018, 2020, 2021. Team A will claim the pot in 2019 for having achieved 2 titles in 3 years. Team B will win the pot in 2021 after achieving 2 titles in 3 years. If the league folds, this pot will be split between teams eligible for winning it prior to fold. (last two champions) |
Bankroll: |
Your Bankroll is what you use on all auction drafts and all free agency blind bidding. It continually rolls over into the next event and stays with you. Each team will start the league with $1000 in their bankroll. This will be used for the startup auction. We will be drafting 20 players, so this averages out to $50 per player. You do not need to draft 20 players. If you want to draft less and finish your roster with free agents, that's fine. Before the rookie draft, each team will receive money based on a *formula and picks for the rookie auction. At the beginning of the fantasy season, each team will receive $50. At the beginning of each off-season, each team will receive $50. By January 1st of each year, teams will receive a lump some of money based on how they finished the prior season. This is determined by a points scored and wins in comparison to the top team. This bankroll will be what you use for all auction drafts and free agency. It is tradeable. Bankroll PayDay recap:
*****These may offset the balance of the league. Each January the commissioner will look at whether any of these need to be removed. He will ask if there are suggestions for misc. prizes for future years. The commissioner will decide which prizes should be voted on (removal or inclusion). The commissioner will make a suggestion in the best interest of the league. These prizes need to not go overboard and must try to maintain a balance in allowing bottom teams a shot at getting better. The more prizes that go to top teams, the more that hurts the league. We need some prizes for good teams, but too many is not good for the health of the league. A vote will be held for each potential addition/removal from this list. Simple majority, 15/28 will decide the vote. The rules that go up for vote will be decided by the commissioner. He may decide a certain rule would cause too much imbalance and not even give it a vote. These are meant to be fun, let's try not to get worked up over them. :) Playoff / non-playoffs payouts
*Rule: Must have been on your roster PRIOR to the INJURY/SUSP/ARREST. If they have the injury/susp/arrest before you pick them up, you can't claim this prize. You must notify the commissioner to get this prize. He will have to double check and also doesn't want to moniter everyone's players for these. If a player has a rumored suspension/IR placement coming before they are on your team... that player will not qualify for this bonus. *Formula: The formula that determines draft order uses the difference between the top and bottom teams in points. This formula gives the top team a $200 base ($45 devy) and the bottom team a $400 base ($90 devy). The teams in between are given amounts based on their relation to the top and bottom team. The amounts are not static. If the 6th best team is significantly better than the 7th, that team will get far less money than if those two teams were close in points possible. This formula will be done at conclusion of the REGULAR season after week 13. Here is an example table of the formula in action: On MFL I will allow trading of 5 rounds of draft picks. If you trade a pick, you are really trading the belw amount in auction dollars. Remember, this table is an example. The real amount will vary. It will be based on points possible at the end of the regular season. |
Tax the Rich! |
At the end of the season, the good teams will pay a tax to help the bad teams. This will be based on points possible. It will be done by Jan 1. This is NOT tradeable. Obviously, once these are distributed it becomes part of your bank roll and can be traded as cash. This order will be determined by wins then PF. Who you pay will be emailed at the end of the season.
|
Penalties |
There are certain things you do in this league that will trigger a penalty and your account will be deducted if the commissioner notices or is notified. Do not complain about getting a penalty and someone else not. If the commissioner isn't notified or notice an offense, nothing can be done about it.
** unless you notify the commish of inability prior. |
Lump Sum |
Teams will receive a lump some after the season. This lump some is based on a formula comparing the teams to the top team. It is based on wins and points possible. This will be dispersed by Jan 1. This is tradeable. To trade it, put in the comment of a trade "Team X gets Team Y's 2016 Lump Sum" |
Off-Season Schedule: |
Year 1 May 2nd: Startup Auction Year 2 and beyond Devy Auction: 3rd Monday in February |
Waivers: |
Waivers will run every week on Wednesday evening throughout the year. They will be completely shut off during the auction drafts and the playoffs. You will use your bankroll for these moves. The offseason will only have weekly waivers. In season there will be FCFS waivers between the waiver run and kickoff of game. |
Trading: |
You are able to trade draft picks up to 5 rounds. The first 4 rounds are rookie. The 5th round is devy. These picks will be converted into bankroll at the end of the season (see bankroll rules). You are allowed to trade bankroll bucks and make conditional trades. Conditional trade example: I will trade you $25/Charles for Peterson. If Peterson starts less than 8 games for you, you get $50 in stead of $25. If you wish to trade future picks, you must paypal Scott half the league fee for the following year. Trades are processed automatically. If someone feels a trade was made in poor faith, contact the commissioner within 48 hours. The commissioner will talk to the owners and make a ruling. There will be no trade deadline. However, there will be no trading allowed during the league playoffs. Trades made leading up to the end of the season that look unfair will recieve greater scrutiny if a complaint is raised. |
Startup Draft: |
Rules:
|
Devy Draft: |
To be held at the end of February / Early March each year. Players eligible must be entering college or available to play college football in the upcoming season. Players still in high school or leaving college are not eligible. If a player is staying in college, then later declares for the NFL draft for a special reason like Josh Gordon or Terrell Pryor... you will lose that player. So be careful. Our devy draft is AFTER the NFL Draft Declaration date, so this should rarely be an issue. The Devy Draft will be an auction where only 28 devy players will be put up for bid. All 28 players will be on the board at the same time. Each person will nominate a devy player. There will only be 1 copy of each devy player allowed in the devy draft. This will ensure that the rookie draft each year will have at least 1 copy of every rookie. The roster limit will be temporarily suspended until one week after the draft in which you must cut down your to the roster limit and taxi people. Owners are allowed to win as many devy players as they can afford. There is an 5 man taxi squad for them to be placed. To be clear. Only 1 copy of a devy player may be owned. The 2nd copy must be available for the rookie draft. For 2017 and beyond: there will be a rule to force legit nominations |
Rookie Draft: |
To be held beginning the Monday after the NFL Draft each year. The Rookie Draft will be an auction. You will use your bankroll for this. Only 1 copy of a player may be on the board at a time (this is actually an MFL thing). The roster limit will be temporarily suspended until one week after the draft in which you must cut down your to the roster limit and taxi people. Owners are allowed to win as many rookies as they can afford. There is an 5 man taxi squad for them to be placed. This must be done within one week of the end of the auction. |
Free Agent Auction Draft: |
Each year teams will be allowed to "donate" players from their rosters for a free agent auction. All players for this auction will be put up for bid at the same time. The team that wins the player will get the player. The team that "donated" the player will receive the money from the team that won the player. This is a quick way for teams to earn a few extra bucks before the rookie draft. There will be a 2nd free agent auction on August 1st. The roster limit will be temporarily suspended until one week after the draft in which you must cut down your to the roster limit and taxi people. |
Special Bidding Rules: |
There are 2 copies of players however MFL doesn't allow you to win 2 of the same player. It also doesn't allow you to nominate a copy of a player you already own. However, it DOES allow you to bid on a player you already own. If you bid on a player you already own and win him, your account will be deducted that amount and the player will return to the player pool to be nominated again. Because of this, our league rule will state that an owner is NOT ALLOWED to bid on a player they already own. This will prevent this from happening and also be fair to other owners. This means you are not allowed to price enforce on players you already own. The roster limit will be temporarily suspended until one week after the draft in which you must cut down your to the roster limit and taxi people. Going over your amount will result in a $10 fine. Keep track of your own finances to be safe. |
Taxi Squad: |
Your Taxi Squad can host 5 total rookies / devy players. It is only for rookie/devy players you DRAFT. You can not have rookies or devy players that you pick up on waivers or trade for on your taxi squad. You can however demote a player to taxi squad if they were on the taxi squad of the team you trade with and you have an open taxi spot. Note: You will need an open roster spot to bring that player to your team AND an open taxi squad to demote them. You must demote these players within one week following the respective drafts. Players may be promoted at any time. Players may not be demoted once the deadline has passed. A rookie/devy player may stay on your taxi squad until they are past their rookie season in the NFL. |

Schedule / Divisions / Rivalry Selection: |
You will play a 13 game schedule and will play each team in your division once. Each year the divisions will reset. The divisions will be based on the rivalry selections. The 14 rivalry game losers from the previous year will be ranked 1-14 based on W/L then PF. Selection Process: Each team will choose a rival. The rival they choose MUST have a rivalry trophy.
|
Playoffs: |
Waivers and trading will close for the 3 weeks of playoffs. I know it sucks, but it's the only 3 weeks this will happen all year. Playoff teams will consist of the top 6 teams per division. The division standings will be ordered by head to head, then points for. This is how the regular season division winner is crowned. The playoff teams in each conference will be: Top 3 best records get in, THEN the top 3 remaining teams with the most points. Seeding:
Playoffs will NOT reseed. There will be NO byes. Week 14: 6 teams compete, top 3 scores advance
|
Toilet Bowl: |
All 16 teams that don't make the playoffs will set lineups in a winner take all toilet bowl! This will be 2 week (week 14 and week 15) matchup. The team with the most total combined points from those two weeks will win the toilet bowl. Prizes: $50 in bankroll, $50 in real cash. |
Fee / Payouts: | ||||||||||||||||||||||
League Fee: $55 Paypal scottfish24@gmail.com (use the friends and family option). League fees must be paid by the 15th of February (A week or so before the devy draft starts). All owner league abilities will be turned off the week before the Superbowl. They will be turned back on when the fee is paid. If a league fee is not paid by February 15th, the commissioner may replace the owner as to not disturb the offseason schedule. Total Pot: $1540
|
Owner Rules: |
Failure to comply to all of these may get an owner removed from the league upon the commissioners discretion. |
League Bets: |
The message board is to be used for making league bets. You will be able to bet bankroll money with other owners. If you want to bet $10 bankroll that Latavius Murray will run for 1200 yds you can make a post to that effect. Bets pay out upon completion (must notify commish). If commish is not notified they will be processed around Jan 1 of each year. I may make a form and area for this to be done later. For now, this will be the only use for the message board. League communication will be done through email. No maximum wager. You can bet on anything, it is not limited to football, or even sports. Bets must be in $1 increments. |
League Openings: |
If an owner chooses to leave the league, the team will be replaced by the commissioner. New owners will NOT retain rivalry trophies. They must start from scratch. New owners will not retain double champion eligibilty. They must start from scratch. |
Dispersal Auction: |
re-figuring out. |
Voting: |
Voting on polls in this league is mandatory. You MUST vote on all proposals. Majority for normal votes is reached if 15/28 owners agree on a rule change. Any rule change that affects starting lineup requirements or scoring will not be installed the following season. It will be installed the season after that. A scoring or starting lineup change will need 19/28 votes (2/3 majority). Failure to vote in a poll could lead to being replaced in the league. |
Sportsmanship: |
Everyone playing is an adult and should conduct themselves as such. Trash talk, bragging, dirty jokes, etc are expected. There is a line. The commissioner will draw the line between comments made in good fun and inflammatory comments that could harm the good of the league. |
Best Interest Clause: |
Should circumstances, issues, or problems arise for which a remedy is not stated in the Rules... the Commissioner reserves the right to take whatever actions he deems necessary in the best interest of the league. He may consult with some or all other owners and/or possibly take a vote. |
