The Scott FIsh Bowl is the premier fantasy tournament in the fantasy football industry. It brings together nearly every fantasy football analyst in the industry, famous celebrities, former professional athletes, and thousands upon thousands of fans. It's about community, networking, and of course raising money for worthwhile causes. SFB has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity. This tournament, which drafts in early July, has become known as the unofficial start of the fantasy football season for many. It is the main fundraising event of Fantasy Cares.
Fantasy Cares is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to raising money for various causes through the fantasy sports community. It was founded with the mission to inspire people to bring a charitable element to their fantasy leagues and to help raise money each year for various 501(c)(3) charities. The majority of the funds raised are used to buy toys for kids at Christmas, with those toys being donated to Toys for Tots or similar charities. In the past, Fantasy Cares has also supported dog rescues, hurricane relief efforts, food shelves, the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and many other worthy causes.
Scott Fish is the creator of the Devy (developmental dynasty leagues), The ScottFishBowl, and many other creative settings and formats. Due to that, become known as one the most respected commissioners in the fantasy community. His longtime goal is to convince every league he can to donate one entry fee to charity. His major passions include helping his fantasy football community family and charitable work.
He started playing fantasy football in 1992. It was a dynasty league but has now turned into a keeper league and still exists today. Scott started as a content creator in the fantasy industry in 2005. In 2007, he created his own site called FFOasis which became well known for being the only devy resource out there and one of the bigger IDP resources. He is credited with creating the developmental (devy) dynasty format in the 1990s and was the first one to write, podcast, and produce devy content in the fantasy industry.
He now runs SafeLeagues commissioner services. On the side he hosts Commission: Impossible a podcast and newsletter devoted to commissioner based topics. He can also be found on the longest running fantasy football show (now entering year 28 in 2022) now in syndication on iHeart Radio – Fantasy Football Weekly.
Scott has recieved multiple awards for his charity work and connecting community.
In June of 2021, Scott Fish was awarded the Matthew Berry Game Changer Award for pushing the industry to add charitable components to what we do and galvanizing and connecting the fantasy industry.
See AnnouncementIn January of 2020, Scott Fish received the Fantasy Sports and Gaming Association's Humanitarian of the Year award for 2019 for his efforts raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity and for pushing the mindset in the community that if we each give a little bit with our hobby, we can do a lot of good.
